Halo Machine was composed atop 3 separate drones. The songs use religious tropes to explore the meditations and brooding that comes with the monastic rhythms of living alone during lockdown.

Lake Street
There’s a presumption that you have to get out of the city to find peace and tranquility, but for me the stretch of Lake St between Ashland and Kedzie has always been a place of respite. You feel at once in the guts of the city and at an observation point. No facades and few people on foot, it’s a uniquely sleepy part of town that for me welcomes reflection. Kanye walked this stretch under the lake st el to get some things off his chest in 2018 and I had an image of Yeezus going to Lake Street to pray like Jesus did in Gethsemane. I’m not that interested in the inner thoughts of politicians, however, so instead wrote my own Lake Street prayer.
Tenant
Power is granted in civil society, and therefore it is always tenuous. If you lean into the “alternative” narrative that those in power like to put forth, you start to reveal its absurdity. At the end of the day, your boss is your client and you are your landord’s. We should treat them accordingly. Also, please address your landlord as “Lord” from here on out.
